Bookstore

We have a bookstore with many resources on South Asian culture, immigration, as well as a plethora of unique items in different languages, including books, CDs and DVDs. Visit us at our Talman location or online!

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Fellowships

Thursday mornings at 10:00am we have morning Satsung/devotion to Lord Jesus Christ led by our brother Anil.

Womens Luncheon

Boys Club and Girls Club (and fun stuff for the family too)

God loves young people and has used them as world changers all throughout history. Whether it be the guys getting together for a game of Basketball, or the girls getting together to swim or dance, we have a good times at the Friendship Center. If you would like to know about the clubs other fun events (movie nights, the carnival, etc.) contact Michelle Engel: devonevents@yahoo.com

Tutoring

The South Asian Friendship Center pulls from a support base of some of Chicagoland's finest colleges to provide tutoring for your student. Retirement Homes

We visit the elderly in the Devon community at the Lakeshore Nursing Home. We have church services there every Friday from 3:00-4:00pm led by Moody Bible Institute students. Also we have a team of 18 people that do weekly visitations on various days.

International Social Work 

Periodically we send individuals and teams to South Asia as relief workers. Spring 2005, we sent financial aid and staff in response to the tsunami. Summer 2005, we collaborated with a hospital in Afghanistan. Winter 2005 we collected finances and a small team to help with reconstruction in Pakistan after the earthquake. We gratefully thank all those who have been involved with the South Asian Friendship Center in reaching out across the world through going and giving.
